Run a backup now

  1. Open the plan and click Run now

    Also from the dashboard’s Run backup action.

  2. Tick the sources to include

    Only the ticked sources run; the others are left out of this run.

  3. Optionally open Override output for this run

    This run and its retries use the output you pick; the plan keeps its own. The same policies apply - a run is never less protected than allowed.

  4. Choose what happens to what it stores

    • Kept by the plan’s retention - like any other run.

    • Kept at least until a date - e.g. before an upgrade.

    • Pinned: kept until somebody unpins it.

  5. Give a Reason and click Start

    The audit log and the run keep the reason. The run is queued and picked up within half a minute; its console opens.
