ClickHouse backups, natively.
ClickHouse's own BACKUP to a dedicated disk, polled until it completes and then collected — or, with no server changes at all, a logical export of every table in the Native format.
What Xtic runs
clickhouse-client --query "BACKUP DATABASE shop TO Disk('xtic_backups','<run>.zip') ASYNC"Shown with placeholders. Credentials never appear on a command line: they reach the tool through the environment, a file descriptor or a short-lived file in memory.
Restore paths
- Under a new name: RESTORE DATABASE … AS shop_restored
- Original database: after a drop, with approval
- Logical: INSERT … FORMAT Native per table
Verification
The backup's status in system.backups; a scratch restore in deep verification. Every artifact is also hashed, and the stored copy is read back and compared before the run counts as verified.
Version rule
Restore into the same or a newer server; the Native format is the most portable.
Good to know
- The backup disk is a configuration prerequisite you approve once
- Access entities are included only when access control is SQL-driven, not users.xml
- Licence and editions: Apache 2.0 — no gates.
