§ Databases · Multi-model
ArangoDB backups, natively.
arangodump of one or all databases; the tool expands the password from the environment itself, so it never appears in argv.
What Xtic runs
arangodump --server.password @XTIC_ARANGO_PW@ --all-databases true --output-directory /xtic/<run>/dumpShown with placeholders. Credentials never appear on a command line: they reach the tool through the environment, a file descriptor or a short-lived file in memory.
Restore paths
- arangorestore, creating the database or into a new name
Verification
Dump structure files present; collection counts after restore. Every artifact is also hashed, and the stored copy is read back and compared before the run counts as verified.
Version rule
Same or newer; split-file dumps from 3.12 cannot go to older versions.
Good to know
- Hot backup is covered by a recipe
- Licence and editions: 3.12 is BSL 1.1; Community Edition is capped at 100 GiB of data.
